The highly-anticipated anime ‘Edens Zero’ will officially premiere this week in Japan, but what time will episode 1 air and how can fans around the world watch it?

Aside from the fifth season of My Hero Academia, no other anime series premiering on the Spring slate has as much excitement and expectation as Edens Zero.

Adapting the critically acclaimed manga of the same name, Edens Zero has experienced some serious hype ever since the anime adaptation was announced in June 2020.

The series is scheduled to premiere this week, but how can viewers watch Edens Zero and what date will episode 1 release?

Edens Zero episode 1: Release date and time

Edens Zero episode 1 is set to premiere on Nippon TV on Sunday, April 11th.

You may have seen some reviews floating around the internet already and this is because episodes 1 and 2 were streamed in advance of the series debut this weekend.

The first episode will premiere in Japan at 12:55 AM local time.

The series will debut internationally on Netflix in the Fall, but a more specific date has not been confirmed.

How to watch Edens Zero…

  • Unfortunately, Edens Zero will only be available legally for Japanese viewers via channels such as Nippon TV, until it releases internationally on Netflix in Fall 2021.

Netflix has officially purchased the broadcasting rights to Edens Zero, so don’t expect the series to be made available on platforms such as Funimation or Crunchyroll.

Anime series typically debut on Netflix between three and seven months after their conclusion in Japan.

The Netflix release date has been confirmed for Fall 2021, so it will be several months until Edens Zero arrives on the streaming giant.

This article will be updated as soon as more information is revealed.
