Everyone on TikTok is using the Face Shrinking Filter, but how do you find it? Here’s everything you need to know.

This week, a new TikTok trend emerged that saw people using the Fat Face Filter to increase the size of their face ten times.

Now, people are doing the trend in reverse, using a Face Shrinking Filter to reduce the size of their face.

Want to give it a try? Here’s how to find it.

What is the Face Shrinking Filter on TikTok?

The Face Shrinking Filter is taking over TikTok right now, and it does exactly what it says on the tin, makes your face smaller.

TikTok’s latest trend sees people using the Face Shrinking Filter over and over again until their face is really skinny, making them resemble an alien.

Usually, people do it ten times and document their results in time with Beyoncé’s track Countdown.

How to get the Face Shrinking Filter

The Face Shrinking Filter isn’t actually a filter at all. Well, not one that you find on TikTok, Instagram or Snapchat anyway.

It’s an effect on an editing app called FaceApp, and here’s how to get it…

  • Download FaceApp from the App Store.
  • Upload the photo you want to use.
  • In the bottom bar, tap ‘sizes’.
  • Then, click ‘small face’.
  • The filter is part of the ‘pro’ section of the app, so you will have to pay to use it. However, you can get a free trial.
  • Now, save the image, upload it to FaceApp and repeat the process ten times.

Have a go at the Fat Face Filter instead

If you don’t want to enter your card details into the app, why not have a go at the Fat Face Filter instead.

Rather than tapping ‘small face’, tap ‘big face’ which is free to use and doesn’t need the ‘pro’ version of FaceApp.

Then, you can do the same TikTok challenge but increase the size of your face rather than make it skinnier.
