West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell has admitted to the Premier League’s Youtube channel that Angelo Ogbonna doesn’t like running very much, although he is so dominant in the air.

Cresswell and Ogbonna have played together at West ham for six years now, meaning that they have built up a good understanding.

And when asked who he felt what his best defensive paternship, Cresswell named the Italian, even though it does require him to run further distances.

“Defensively I am going to have to say Angelo Ogbonna, who is an absolute beast and a rock at the back,” he said.

“We have a great understanding, not that he likes running much, but I try and do his running for him!

“But I know once the ball goes up in the air, nine times out of 10 he’s going to win it and send the ball back the other way.”

Ogbonna was enjoying a fine season at West Ham, but injury has struck at the worst possible time.

The £10 million centre-back (Guardian) has now missed West Ham’s last seven Premier League matches.

The Hammers have coped well without him, but concerns are mounting about their injury list now.

Both Michail Antonio and Declan Rice are on the sidelines alongside Ogbonna, which could harm their top four chances.

West Ham currently occupy fourth spot, with a huge game against Leicester City next up at the weekend.
