Kieran Tierney has arguably been Arsenal’s best player this season.

Well let’s face it, that wouldn’t be all that difficult when you consider how bad Arsenal have been since September.

But still, Tierney has probably been the Gunners’ most consistent and reliable player in a campaign that has seen Mikel Arteta’s side – who are 10th in the Premier League – struggle to stay in the top half of the table for very long.

Having also helped Scotland qualify for a first major tournament since 1998, the 23-year-old defender deserves only good things on an individual basis, but another injury threatens to ruin his dream.

Arsenal revealed on Wednesday that the left-back has suffered knee ligament damage and could be set for a six-week spell on the sidelines.

This is bad for the Emirates Stadium side because it seems unlikely he’ll play for them again this season, but it could also be awful for Scotland.

If the prognosis is correct and Tierney is out for six weeks, it’s a race against time to have him available for Euro 2020 in the summer.

And here’s how some Scotland fans reacted to the potential blow:
