Celtic target Milan van Ewijk is flattered by reported interest from clubs across Europe while telling Omroep West that ADO Den Haag may be forced to cash in during the summer transfer window.
Despite boasting a squad with no shortage of proven Eredivisie quality, particularly in attacking areas, ADO are bottom of the table and seemingly destined for the drop.
Seven points separate Ruud Brood’s team from the relegation play-off spot.
And while Van Ewijk hasn’t given up yet, he’ll know deep down it would take a miracle of biblical proportions for ADO to avoid playing Eerste Divisie football next term.
According to Voetbal International, Celtic have joined the likes of Schalke, Hamburg and Heerenveen in targeting the 20-year-old right-back, one of the few bright sparks in a dismal season for Den Haag.
And Van Ewijk is under no illusions his future may lie away from the Cars Jeans Stadion, with a potential move to Heerenveen, in particular, holding plenty of appeal.
“(The transfer speculation) is a reward for the good games I have played this season. At the end of the season, I will see what happens,” says the former Feyenoord prospect.
“Does Heerenveen suit me? In the matches we played against them, (playing for Heerenveen) looked attractive. They play with attacking full-backs who get the ball a lot.

“Suppose there is a conversation? I would like to know what their plan is. I am a guy who makes choices based on feeling.
“The situation is if ADO are relegated, it may be necessary to sell players. Then they can use the money to get other players or maybe let youth players move up.”
According to VI, Van Ewijk has been given permission to hold talks with Heerenveen as a summer departure feels increasingly inevitable.
Should Celtic win the race for his signature, Van Ewijk would be expected to replace Jeremie Frimpong and Everton loanee Jonjoe Kenny on the right-hand side.
