Alan Shearer said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (11:09pm, April 4, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will be fed up of everyone talking about his future.
The former Newcastle United striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, said that only Kane will decide whether or not he will stay at Tottenham beyond the summer of 2021.
Kane recently gave an interview in which he suggested that he could leave Tottenham at the end of the season, as quoted on Sky Sports.
The England international’s comments have led to Spurs fans and pundits speculating on his future.
Shearer said about Kane and his future on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (11:09pm, April 4, 2021): “Only he knows the answer to that. He will be fed up of people discussing it as well. It’s what he decides, what he wants to do.”
Stay or go?
If Kane wanted to leave Tottenham, he would have left by now, and Spurs fans should be optimistic that the 27-year-old will stay at the club even if they are unable to finish in the Premier League top four.
True, like all footballers, the England international striker would love to win major trophies and silverware, but he has been at Spurs his entire professional club football career and loves the club.
Kane, who scored twice against Newcastle United at the weekend, is also chasing Shearer’s record as the top scorer in the Premier League of all time.
