Arsenal already have fears that Martin Odegaard may not return next season – and those fears may have only been enhanced after Saturday night.

The Gunners took on Liverpool on Saturday night, with Diogo Jota scoring twice, finding the net either side of a Mohamed Salah strike.

Arsenal were second best throughout and couldn’t cope with the Reds, with Odegaard unable to have his usual effect on the game having been in great form of late.

The Norwegian failed to create a chance, have a shot on target or complete a dribble, and his frustrating night played a major role in Arsenal’s defeat tonight.

Intriguingly, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was spotted in deep conversation with Odegaard at full time, taking the time to speak to the Arsenal loanee.

The Daily Star reported only last weekend that Liverpool actually want to sign Odegaard, entering the race to sign him ahead of his return to Real Madrid this summer.

Odegaard has previously admitted that Liverpool are his dream club, so if he is offered a move to Anfield this summer, it may be hard for him to say no.

Klopp directly speaking to him tonight may have just been pleasantries, but some will feel that it was laying the groundwork for a summer move – and Arsenal fans will certainly be fearing the worst having seen that footage tonight.
