Speaking on his podcast, Phil Hay has delivered a verdict on a potential summer move to Leeds United for Rodrigo De Paul.
The Argentine has long been linked with a move to Elland Road, but as of yet, nothing concrete has come to fruition, and Hay believes that there may not be too much in the links.
“The more I’ve heard about it, the more it sounds as if Rodrigo De Paul was pushed Leeds’ way by somebody rather than Leeds actively going and asking the question about him,” Hay said.
“It has to be said that in the 12 months since, it’s never gone away, this, and it’s been a constant source of discussion. It’s been a constant source of reports in Italy, in particular.
“It still is that name that keeps doing the rounds, and it’s odd because it’s got to the stage now where it’s become a little bit of an obsession.
“In a pool of European midfielders which stretches to hundreds, he has become the answer and the player that some people seem absolutely desperate to sign, and I’m still not convinced that it’s going to happen.”

It seems as though the Udinese star may not be Yorkshire-bound after all.
A lot of Leeds fans loved the idea of bringing him in, but there doesn’t look to have been a real concrete interest from the club.
The Whites could probably do with a midfielder this summer, so it will be interesting to see what is done on that front, but it looks as though De Paul won’t be the man they go out and get.
