Liverpool fans may well remember the name Talles Magno from last summer’s transfer window.

The Vasco da Gama attacker was strongly linked with a host of clubs last summer, having shown real promise early into his career.

Esporte News in Brazil noted that Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, Juventus, Lazio, Roma and Sevilla were all fighting for Magno, whilst Liverpool were also keen – and he wanted a move to Anfield.

Magno didn’t get his move, and it would now be a huge surprise to see Liverpool make another move any time soon based on new reports emerging in Brazil.

Goal report that Magno now ‘looks like a relic from the distant past’, and has been overtaken at Vasco by a host of other promising young talents.

It’s noted that Magno has suffered injuries and a complete loss of form, with Marcelo Cabo now picking other players instead of the 18-year-old.

At that age, Magno certainly has more than enough time to get back on track and turn things around. He has only played three times in 2021 though, and his record of five goals and three assists in 61 games for Vasco isn’t hugely impressive.

It’s far too early to say that Liverpool have dodged a bullet by not signing Magno, but their decision not sign him now looks like a good one.
