According to Sabah, West Brom have now entered the race to sign Fenerbahçe maestro Ozan Tufan, after Everton were also linked.

The Turkish news outlet claim that the Baggies are interested in signing the 58-cap Turkey international.

Crystal Palace are also said to be keen, with Sabah adding that the Eagles are leading the race for Tufan.

Elsewhere, it was Ajansspor who said Everton were eyeing the 26-year-old, who impressed against Norway on Saturday with two excellent goals.

Sadly for West Brom, Sabah claim that Tufan is not interested in joining them, given the fact they’re likely to get relegated this season.

However, it’s clear that Sam Allardyce doesn’t flitter from target to target.

The ex-England boss wanted Tufan in January, according to Hurriyet, with talks even said to have taken place between Fenerbahçe and West Brom.

Despite West Brom’s persistence, it doesn’t look likely that the midfielder will be arriving at the Hawthorns.

Anyway, one silver lining is that Fenerbahçe are demanding no less than Tufan’s €20 million (£17 million) release clause, which is pretty steep.

West Brom can surely find better value for money elsewhere.

It would also be risky to pay that much for a player currently plying his trade in Turkey.

As we’ve seen in the likes of Alexander Sorloth, those who do well in Turkey can’t always replicate their form in England.
