Scotland boss Steve Clarke has batted away suggestions that Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney is injured at his latest press conference, which can be viewed on Scotland’s Youtube channel.

There were concerns at full-time at Tierney appeared to limp off after Scotland’s game against Israel.

But the Arsenal left-back is not injured, with Clarke simply saying that the heavy pitch may have played a part in him feeling tired.

“He’s okay, I don’t know about cramp,” Clarke added. “Towards the end, the boys were saying the pitch was really quite heavy and tricky. One or two of them mentioned that.”

The news will come as a big relief for Arsenal, who will be desperate to keep Tierney fit.

The Scot is a vital player for Mikel Arteta’s side, and he will be key on Saturday.

Arsenal’s defence is likely to be tested heavily by a Liverpool side, who have started to click back into gear recently.

And with Arsenal already facing doubts over Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka’s availability, they will be delighted to hear Tierney be given the green light to feature.

Scotland face one final game over the international break tomorrow, when they take on the Faroe Islands, and Tierney looks likely to play.
