Liverpool are interested in signing Memphis Depay this summer, according to a report.
The Netherlands international is enjoying a brilliant season with French outfit Lyon, netting 15 goals and setting up another nine across all competitions.
But with his contract expiring this summer, Depay looks set to leave on a Bosman and according to Marca, Liverpool are among those keen on the 27-year-old.
The report adds that the Reds could have competition from Barcelona and Juventus.
Good signing for Liverpool?
In a word, absolutely.
Yes, Depay has previously struggled in the Premier League during a stint with Manchester United, but he’s a much more mature and rounded player now and there’s now guarantees that he would encounter the same difficulties.
After all, joining Liverpool at the age of 27 is far different than joining the Red Devils at the age of 21.
Besides, his numbers speak for themselves this season and with Jurgen Klopp likely losing Xherdan Shaqiri and potentially even loanee Takumi Minamino, a free transfer of Depay might not be such a bad thing.
