
Some Arsenal fans on Twitter have moved to praise Cedric Soares after his assist on international duty last night.
Soares, who joined Arsenal on a permanent basis last summer, started for Portugal in their 2-2 draw away to Serbia on Saturday.
And the 29-year-old played a big role in one of the goals, delivering a brilliant cross which Liverpool’s Diogo Jota headed home.
Soares has only been a bit-part player for the Gunners since joining on a free transfer, managing 700 minutes of Premier League football this season due to being behind Hector Bellerin in the pecking order.
But when he has played, the former Southampton right-back – who can and has played left-back for Arsenal this season too – has been fairly impressive.
His cross on Saturday is another example of what an asset he can be for Mikel Arteta in an attacking sense
