If speculation is believed, Arsenal want to sign Achraaf Hakimi this summer.
The Telegraph reported at the beginning of March that the Gunners were very interested in bringing the jet-heeled defender to North London.
Arsenal might be in the market for a new right-back over the coming months amid talk of Hector Bellerin moving to either Spain or France.
Hakimi only joined Inter Milan last summer after a glittering loan spell at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid.
The Morocco international and Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos were once team-mates in the Spanish capital.
Ceballos, who’s only on loan with the North Londoners, posted footage of his exercise regime during the international break on Instagram.
And Hakimi responded by labelling the Spain international an ‘animal’ followed by a flexed arm emoji.
Are Arsenal going to sign Hakimi? In a word, nope.
He’s definitely a player who would improve Mikel Arteta’s side – particularly if Bellerin goes – but we’re talking about a player who secured a £34 million transfer fee only last summer.
In other words, Inter can pretty much demand any fee they want for Hakimi and unfortunately for Arsenal, they just won’t be in the conversation – particularly if they fail to win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League as a consequence.
