Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier as a potential alternative to Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris and David De Gea, according to The National.
It has been reported by the Abu Dhabi-based news outlet that PSG see Meslier as a ‘more attainable option’ to Tottenham goalkeeper Lloris.
The French giants believe that negotiating with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy for Lloris will be tough, and think that the Leeds star will be cheaper than United goalkeeper De Gea, according to the report, which has added that the 21-year-old could be tempted to move to last season’s Champions League finalists.
Blow for Leeds United?
Meslier is a regular in the Leeds first team and is the number one goalkeeper for head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
The 21-year-old Frenchman has played 28 games in the Premier League this season, according to WhoScored.
PSG are a massive club who regularly win Ligue 1 and compete in the Champions League, and an offer from them could be hard for Meslier to turn down.
However, Leeds should make sure if that PSG do come in, then they sell the youngster for the maximum transfer fee that they can get.
