According to Marca, Real Madrid have completely ruled out the prospect of selling Martin Odegaard to Arsenal this summer.

It’s claimed that Real are not contemplating a transfer at all, and expect Odegaard to be back with them for next season and beyond.

Odegaard is described as being ‘determined’ to succeed at Real, even though he is currently happy at Arsenal.

This report appears to kill off any hopes of Arsenal signing Odegaard permanently, and if they want him for next season, it may have to be a loan deal.

Odegaard has been outstanding of late, picking up goals against Olympiacos and Tottenham before running the game against West Ham United on Sunday.

Boss Mikel Arteta has been raving about Odegaard of late, branding his work rate ‘phenomenal’ earlier this month.

Eurosport claim that a permanent deal may cost around £40million, but that now seems to be unlikely given Marca’s new report.

Real did allow Dani Ceballos to spend a second season on loan at Arsenal, so the Gunners may now be left hoping for a similar agreement on Odegaard.
