Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter in horror after a 12-second clip of Naby Keita playing for Guinea against Mali emerged yesterday.
Liverpool’s No.8 was seen getting clattered into, in what was an overly aggressive lunge from the Mali player during Guinea’s 1-0 win.
It prompted the referee to blow his whistle a few times in order to stop a fight breaking out, as Keita looked far from pleased.
The £52 million man gets straight up after being fouled, and stares his opponent out as if to say ‘what are you doing?’ – he had every right to be annoyed.
Keita’s season has been very stop-start, as a number of niggling injuries have plagued his chances of a consistent run in Jürgen Klopp’s side.
The 26-year-old has only been able to start seven of the club’s 29 Premier League games, while he’s only started one Champions League game too.

Keita should now be in his peak at 26, so Liverpool must ensure they take good care of him and manage his workload properly, as it’s clear he’s a fragile footballer.
We’re sure the Reds are already doing their best, in that respect.
However, it must be infuriating to invest time into helping the former RB Leipzig man recover, only to see him receive such brutal treatment with Guinea.

We don’t think any Liverpool fan would be surprised if he now returned back at Anfield with an injury.
Let’s hope that isn’t the case.
Let’s see what the visibly annoyed Liverpool fans have been saying about the 12-second footage…
