Lens defender Loic Bade has handed Liverpool hope ahead of a potential summer swoop, by admitting to Score that he dreams of plying his trade for one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

It is fair to say Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League champions fit into that particular category.

Even during a fallow period following the turn of the century, Liverpool were still a magnet for some of the brightest talents in the game.

And while the 2020/21 campaign has not exactly gone to plan, a flurry of trophies in the last few seasons have catapulted the Reds back into the big time, boosting the profile of an already colossal footballing institution.

So if Liverpool come calling for one of Ligue 1’s most exciting young talents during the upcoming transfer window, it would be a major surprise if Bade turned his nose up at a life-changing opportunity.

“It is certain that I have a goal – and that is to play for the biggest European clubs and to try to win as many trophies as possible,” said the 20-year-old centre-back, who has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of another one-time Lens starlet.

“A career similar to Raphael Varane? Why not.”

Varane was just 18 when he was snapped up by Real Madrid nearly a decade ago. And, after helping a newly-promoted Lens side rise to the vertigo-inducing heights of fifth in the French top flight, it seems only a matter of time before Bade is handed his big break too.

Le10 Sport claim that Liverpool are watching the former Le Havre ace like a hawk as the summer approaches.
