Real Betis are aware of Arsenal’s interest in Guido Rodriguez, with the Premier League giants sending scouts to watch the tough-tackling Argentina international, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
During a disappointing first half of the season, one of the main accusations levelled at Manuel Pellegrini’s expensively assembled side was that they were far too easy to play against.
And the numbers speak for themselves.
Getafe, Real Madrid, Sociedad, Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao all scored three or more goals against Betis in the first two months of the La Liga campaign.
But, since the turn of the year, Los Verdiblancos have been a team transformed, rising from mid-table mediocrity to the vertigo-inducing heights of sixth.
And it is no accident that a superb run of results has coincided with the fine form of their 26-year-old midfield scrapper.
Guido Rodriguez has been one of the division’s most effective enforcers in recent weeks.
And, according to MD, his increasingly-influential displays have not gone unnoticed.

Arsenal are watching the former River Plate starlet closely, with scouts working on behalf of Mikel Arteta’s side travelling to Andalusia to see him in action.
Betis, meanwhile, are fully aware of Arsenal’s interest. What’s more, the Beticos will be under pressure to raise funds this summer and Rodriguez, who has a £68 million release clause in his contract, is one of the club’s most sellable assets.
Impressively, Rodriguez averages 2.5 successful tackles per game in La Liga – far more than Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka (WhoScored).
