Celtic-linked manager Dan Petrescu is still on the market after rejecting a £1 million offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Wahda, as reported by DigiSport.
Clearly, the 53-year-old is picking his next project carefully.
After six short weeks in charge of Kayserispor, his time in Turkey ending prematurely because of personal reasons, Petrescu has made it clear he’s not going to jump back into the dugout at the first opportunity.
“Even if I’m called by Celtic, I can’t train now. I say that until the summer, 99 per cent, I will not go to any team,” said the former Chelsea and Sheffield Wednesday defender a few weeks ago.
That’s not to say Petrescu wasn’t tempted, however, by a money-spinning offer from the Middle East.
According to DigiSport, Al Wahda were willing to hand the former Cluj boss a £1 million deal that would have kept him in the Gulf League until 2022.
Petrescu would have taken home another six-figure sum in bonuses had he led Al Wahda to the league, cup and Asian Champions League treble in the next 12 months or so.

But, after initially saying yes to the job, Petrescu performed a dramatic U-turn and turned down the proposal.
It remains to be seen whether Celtic now plan to make an offer of their own for a man whose Cluj side knocked Neil Lennon’s team out of the Champions League at the qualification stage two years ago.
Petrecu has lifted an impressive seven trophies in his managerial career, including five league titles.
And ProSport claims the straight-talking Romanian is one of the leading candidates to take over at Parkhead.
