Jeff Stelling has sent a message to Newcastle United fans on Twitter, admitting that he was wrong about the Magpies.
The Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday presenter made the comments while watching Newcastle in action against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League this evening.
The Magpies suffered a 3-0 defeat away from home and are now in big danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
Steve Bruce’s side were very poor this evening, and Stelling has admitted that he was wrong about his previous comments.
Only hours ago the Englishman defended Soccer Saturday pundit and former Arsenal star Paul Merson for his comments on the show earlier today.
Relegation worries
The defeat to Brighton means that Newcastle remain 17th in the Premier League table with 28 points from 29 matches,
The Magpies are only two points above third-from-bottom Fulham, who have played 30 games.

Survival is still in Newcastle’s hands, and the international break could help the team go over what is going wrong and act accordingly.
However, it is clear that Newcastle have to step up their game and have to play better if they are to survive.
