Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Newcastle United’s defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion this evening.

Newcastle have suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Brighton in the Premier League.

The Magpies conceded the opening goal of the match in first-half injury time and shipped in two more after the break.

Steve Bruce’s side played poorly and could not really threaten the Seagulls’ much.

Newcastle legend Shearer was following the match, and he has given a simple one-word reaction to the defeat for the Magpies.

Match Stats

Over the course of the 90 minutes this evening, hosts Brighton had 66% of the possession, took 11 shots of which six were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Newcastle had 34% of the possession, took three shots of which one was on target, and earned one corner, according to BBC Sport.

The defeat to Brighton means that Newcastle remain 17th in the Premier League table with 28 points from 29 matches, just two points above third-from-bottom Fulham, who have played 30 games.

Newcastle are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
