Glenn Hoddle said on BT Sport 1 (8:35pm, March 18, 2021) that he noted Tottenham Hotspur central defender Eric Dier screaming at his teammates last night.
The former Tottenham star made the comments while analysing Spurs’ defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Spurs suffered a 3-0 defeat to Dinamo after extra time away from home in the second leg of their Round of 16 tie.
The result meant that Jose Mourino’s side were knocked out of the competition 3-2 on aggregate, having won the first leg 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Hoddle said that he did not see any player take charge of the situation as it went from bad to worse except 27-year-old Dier late in the game.
The Englishman said on BT Sport 1 (8:35pm, March 18, 2021): “I only saw Dier at the very end when he had to flick one back for a corner actually get annoyed. He started screaming at a few people.”

Need to do better
Having won the first leg 2-0, Tottenham should have really eased through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Spurs will know that they have missed a big chance, and head coach Jose Mourinho will surely want to get his team back to winning ways and finish in the top four of the Premier League table this seaso.
