Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has told the club’s official website that he has been seriously impressed by Martin Odegaard’s improvements so far.
Arsenal snapped up Odegaard from Real Madrid in January, and he actually made a slow start in his first few appearances at the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta has kept faith in the playmaker though, with Odegaard already becoming a key member of his Arsenal line-up, and the 22-year-old has quickly repaid his manager’s trust.
Odegaard has now scored goals against Tottenham Hotspur and Olympiacos recently.
And Arteta thinks that he has seen a big improvement in the Norwegian already.
He said: “He is getting better and better. I think his understanding of what we want is excellent.
“His work rate has been phenomenal and then he’s doing something that, in my opinion, could improve a lot which is getting in the opponents’ box and maybe being more decisive in the scoreline.

“He is doing that with the two goals and he’s had some really important entries into the zones and he looks all the time really dangerous. If he adds that to his game, he becomes a real complete player.”
Already there is talk that Arsenal will look into making Odegaard’s transfer permanent in the summer.
Their desire to do so is understandable, given the impact he has made in recent weeks.
And if Odegaard keeps improving between now and the end of the season, then Arsenal’s desire to sign him will surely only grow stronger.
