Celtic are keen to sign Kwadwo Baah from Rochdale after his January move to Manchester City fell through, as reported by Ghana Soccer Net.

Could Pep Guardiola’s loss be Celtic’s gain?

Following a breakthrough season in the third-tier of English football, Baah is all-but guaranteed to be strutting his stuff at a far higher level in 2021/22 – even if the Etihad will not be his destination.

Celtic have apparently joined Old Firm rivals Rangers in the pursuit of the highly-rated winger, who will be a free agent in July.

David Moyes’ West Ham United side are interested too. According to The Athletic, Moyes himself made contact with Baah during the final few days of the January window and the Hammers have been handed a second chance to get the deal done, after his move to the runaway Premier League leaders collapsed.

Why Baah’s City switch hit the buffers remains a mystery.

Celtic, meanwhile, will soon be embarking on a substantial summer rebuild.

The Glasgow giants lost their Premiership crown to Rangers and are now plotting to storm the Ibrox fortress in 2021/22, although they will have to do so with a new-look squad, with Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer expected to follow Olivier Ntcham and Jeremie Frimpong out the door.

Baah, a skillful winger with an eye for goal, feels like exactly the sort of low-cost, high-potential signing Celtic need as they try to narrow the growing gap between themselves and Steven Gerrard’s title-winners.

The German-born youngster could also fill a Moi Elyounoussi-shaped void on the left of Celtic’s attack, with the Southampton loanee due to return to England in the summer.
