According to 90Min, Arsenal are interested in signing Hatayspor striker Aaron Boupendza at the end of the season.
It’s claimed that the 24-year-old could make a big move this summer having rejected a £7million move to Krasnodar in January.
The likes of Tottenham, Leicester City, West Ham, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Wolves, Rangers and Celtic are all thought to be keen on Boupendza, but it’s Arsenal who could lead the race.
That’s because Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has allegedly told the club about Boupendza’s talent, recommending a deal for the striker.
Aubameyang and Boupendza play together for the Gabonese national team, and are their two biggest attacking threats threats alongside Saint-Etienne winger Denis Bouanga.
Boupendza’s 18 goals this season mean he is bound to attract interest anyway, but Aubameyang passing on encouraging words to Arsenal is a huge compliment for a player from humble beginnings.
The striker emerged with CF Mounana in Gabon before heading to Bordeaux, where he failed to make a single league appearance before joining Hatayspor in August 2020.

Few could have expected his stunning season from Boupendza, but he could now make a big move to the Premier League as his 25th birthday approaches this summer.
That’s not too dissimilar from Aubameyang; sure, Aubameyang had loftier beginnings at AC Milan, but it took him until 24 to earn his big move from Saint-Etienne to Borussia Dortmund.
Let’s see if Boupendza can follow suit by becoming an Arsenal hero. If he does make that move, Aubameyang will have played a huge role in making it happen.
