Why did BTS not win a Grammy?

BTS had been nominated in the Best Pop Duo / Group Performance category. Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s ‘Rain On Me’ managed to get more votes than BTS’s Dynamite. As of now, the Grammys has not revealed the vote count for the category.

Needless to say, the loss incurred by the band was enough to make their fans angry. When Dynamite was released, the song broke many records. Within 24 hours of its debut, the song had managed to cross over 100 million views on YouTube.

To add to this, it became the first K-Pop song to hit the top 5 on the Billboard Radio airplay chart. It was also on number 1 of Billboard’s top 100 songs.

There is no doubt that the song has managed to break multiple records as it continues to gain many views on YouTube. Despite this, it seems like it wasn’t enough for a Grammys. Fans have been expressing their disappointment all over Twitter.

Twitter reacts to BTS’s Grammy loss

‘Scammys’ has been trending on Twitter following BTS’s loss. Some fans even alleged that the award show used BTS for viewership.

“When the #scammys used @BTS_twt and #ARMY shamelessly to get more views and increase their profit and then proceeded to disrespect them in such an obvious way, it’s no wonder they went from 1.6 million to 351k in less than 3 minutes,” read one comment.

“Don’t box BTS as some trendy thing, who can be used for clout. They are here to dominate the global music industry, and if you can’t see their impact then I’m sorry you’re blind,” another user echoed similar thoughts.

“Bts deserves a Grammy yes I respect lady Gaga and Ariana grande but bts deserves a win they have worked so hard to get were they got and just because Ariana grande and lady Gaga are BIG artist that doesn’t mean they are better or worse then bts,” read another comment.

I wish BTS didn’t want a grammy so bad. It’s rigged and hasn’t been legit in years. BTS aren’t the first to get snubbed they won’t be the last,” said another.
