Things aren’t going as well as Ainsley Maitland-Niles would have liked following his loan move from Arsenal to West Brom in January.
The 23-year-old posted a video on his Instagram on Saturday of his performances in an Albion shirt during these past few weeks before his side fell to a costly defeat at Crystal Palace.
Everton winger Alex Iwobi, who came through the Arsenal ranks with Maitland-Niles, responded in the comments section to the video by saying ‘a joy to watch’.
Iwobi wasn’t the only one commenting, with Mesut Ozil sending a fire emoji and the Arsenal loanee responding with the words ‘My brother miss you M10’.
Whilst Maitland-Niles is getting praise from his former teammates, the Albion supporters aren’t too pleased with what they are seeing from the versatile player.
One of the main reasons Maitland-Niles moved to the Hawthorns was the fact that he was going to be given the chance to play in midfield.
Well, he has been provided with that chance but it hasn’t seemingly been working for him in the Midlands and even some Arsenal fans have realised that.
But it’s the West Brom supporters, who are currently sitting in the relegation zone and heading for the Championship, who don’t think he has made an impact.
In truth, the England international has been dealt a bad hand because he has walked into a mess.
Even the survival expert Sam Allardyce is struggling to keep them afloat, but it does seem the message is clear about where AMN’s best position on the pitch is.
