According to Diario Gol, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Antoine Griezmann’s situation at Barcelona, and would welcome him with open arms.
The Spanish news outlet state that, following the appointment of Joan Laporta as President, the 85-cap France international could be leaving the Camp Nou.
Diario Gol say that Arsenal have made it clear they’d be interested in signing him, if the Spanish giants do decide to sell the 29-year-old.
They even say that Griezmann has an offer on the table from the north Londoners.
However, he’s waiting to see how Barcelona’s season ends and what the club plan to do with him.
The former Real Sociedad attacker only joined Barcelona in July 2019 for a jaw-dropping sum of €120 million (£103 million).
Ronald Koeman’s side included a release clause worth €800 million (£687 million) in his contract, which tells you just how highly they rated him.
Now, however, with COVID-19 causing financial issues, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Barcelona cash in on their No.7.
If Arsenal do sign the man with 12 goals and 11 assists this season, one club legend would seemingly be happy – Arsene Wenger.
As covered by SPORT, the 71-year-old described Griezmann’s fitness levels as ‘exceptional’ and also said that he’s a ‘smart’ player who’s ‘great’ at playing one-touch passes.
It goes without saying that the World Cup winner is a player of serious pedigree, who won’t come cheap for the Gunners.
