Speaking after Liverpool’s 2-0 second-leg win over RB Leipzig, Jurgen Klopp has lavished praise upon Nat Phillips, proclaiming him to be an aerial monster.
The centre-back put in one hell of a shift against the Bundesliga outfit, helping the Reds towards a clean sheet and ultimately, qualification for the quarter-finals.
His efforts certainly caught the eye of the manager, who was full of praise for him after the match.
“What a boy he is, what a player he is, what a night for him – absolutely great. The concentration level he shows is incredible. He’s an aerial monster and on the floor not bad. He had the honour of playing a CL game and he won it. I am really happy for him,” Klopp said.

Klopp is absolutely right with what he says, Phillips has really shown up for Liverpool here.
The gaffer has every right to be over the moon with him, this was Phillips’ Champions League debut, and he put in what was arguably a Man of the Match performance at centre-half, and you can’t really ask for much more than that.
What a transformation Phillips has enjoyed this season, he wasn’t even registered in the Reds’ Champions League squad at the beginning of the season, and now he’s putting in star performances in Europe as the Reds march onto the last eight.
Fingers crossed we’ll see more of the same in the next round.
