Ian Wright has told Steven Gerrard on Instagram that he ‘loves the Bhoys’ but ‘credit is due’ in regards to Rangers becoming champions.

It will take a while to sink in, but it has been a few days since Rangers ended Celtic’s dominance in Scotland’s top-flight.

The now-legendary Ibrox figure, Gerrard, took to Instagram to simply post ’55’, with several current and ex-players sharing their congratulations on his success.

Arsenal legend Wright stated: “Congratulations boss. Love the Bhoys but credit is due.”

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson simply commented ‘congrats’, whilst Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp added: ‘What a man’.

Michael Owen, who won several trophies at Anfield with Gerrard, also wrote: ‘Brilliant pal’, as many other figures were pleased with Gerrard’s truimph.

Whilst talk heats up about Gerrard taking the reins at Anfield one day, he will no doubt want to double, treble and quadruple the first trophy he has helped put on the table during these coming years.

Given what was on the line this season, with Celtic chasing the ten, this was no doubt one of the, if not the most important title Rangers have won.

Whilst Gerrard didn’t taste title success during his days as a Liverpool player, it hasn’t taken him too long to add that trophy to his cabinet in his first few years in management.
