Reported Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City target Alhassan Yusuf wants to play in the Premier League amid reports suggesting a departure from IFK Goteborg is close, as he told Fotboll Direkt.
This is not the first and probably not the last time that one of the most talented youngsters in Scandinavian football has been linked with a move abroad.
ScoreNigeria claim that Wolves, Leicester and Sheffield United are all interested in Yusuf.
Goteborg, meanwhile, are expected to cash in with just a year left on the youngster’s contract.
And Yusuf, who has been likened to N’Golo Kante due to his boundless energy and belligerent ball-winning ability, has admitted that plying his trade in England is indeed a personal ambition.
“I want to give my best for the club. For me, Gothenburg is home now, so I have to do my best for the club to be in a good place. Then we’ll see what happens,” said Yusuf, three years after moving to Sweden from his native Nigeria.

“Of course I want to play in the Premier League. But you never know what’s going on.”
Yusuf knows that he is far from the finished article, admitting that he needs to add goals and assists to his game, but it is the midfielder’s energy and tenacity that has made him arguably the most coveted player in the Allsvenskan.
Leicester may see Yusuf as an upgrade on Papy Mendy and the erratic Hamza Choudhury in Brendan Rodgers’ engine room while, at Wolves, soon-to-be 35-year-old Joao Moutinho cannot go on forever.
