Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Ben Davies is fit for Liverpool’s visit of Fulham this afternoon.
The 25-year-old joined the Reds from Preston North End in January due to the injury crisis of centre-back options that has decimated the Premier League champions’ season.
But as luck would have it, Davies, who earns £60,000 per week at Liverpool, then fell injured himself and has missed the last few squads.
The English defender hasn’t made his debut under Klopp yet but the German manager has confirmed that he’s available to face the Cottagers today, should he need him.
He told Liverpool’s website: “Nat, I think, will be ready and Ben as well. For Ben it’s not easy in our situation; we brought him in and he has to adapt and all of these kind of things. He is a really good player.
“If you bring one new player and then a second new player it changes everything, so we have to see which decision we make for it.”
Despite being available, Klopp’s comments don’t sound like he’s going to use him.
Ozan Kabak, who joined Liverpool at the same time, will be absent from the squad today due to – you guessed it – an injury but, with Nat Phillips back, the Reds boss will likely pair him and Fabinho in central defence again today.
