According to Defensa Central, Carlo Ancelotti wants Everton to buy Real Madrid duo Lucas Vázquez and Isco to convince James Rodríguez to stay.

The Spanish news outlet claim that the Colombia international is struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League, and has doubts about staying.

In a bid to keep him on Merseyside, Ancelotti wants the Toffees to bring his two former teammates to Goodison Park.

The ex-Chelsea boss wouldn’t be taking a leap into the unknown, however, as he did in fact manage the pair during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Interestingly, Leeds have also been linked with Vázquez, who has nine caps for the Spanish national team.

Coincidentally, it was again revealed by Defensa Central that Marcelo Bielsa wants the 29-year-old at Elland Road.

In our view, Ancelotti’s plan could just work for two reasons.

One, having two familiar faces accompany him on Merseyside could potentially make Rodríguez feel more at home.

Also, signing two Champions League winners would show the former Porto maestro that Everton mean business, and are willing to go to great lengths to bolster the playing staff.

It would be a real shame to see Rodríguez leave England so soon after arriving.

The 29-year-old has lit up the Premier League at times, scoring five goals and assisting four more in 18 appearances this term.
