Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has raved about Raphinha to Leeds Live.

Bielsa has outlined the attributes of the Brazilian winger and has suggested that the 24-year-old is a complete attacking player.

The Argentine has added that he cannot think of many more things to add to Raphinha’s game.

Bielsa told Leeds Live about Raphinha: “What Raphinha is able to create is [?]. After what should more shine or not is whether he can do it on a regular basis. The set-pieces, he manages them very well. Physically, he’s very apt.

“He can unbalance individually or combine with his team-mates. I can’t think of many more things to add to an attacking player, but the most important thing is how many times those resources are shown in every game.”

Impressive season

Raphinha joined Leeds from Rennes in the summer of 2020 and has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.

The 24-year-old has been brilliant for the Whites all season and is now one of the first names on the teamsheet.

The winger scores goals, creates chances, works hard for the team, is very good on set pieces, has pace and is not afraid to run at defenders.

According to WhoScored, Raphinha has made 18 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leeds so far this season, scoring five goals and providing five assists in the process.

What is remarkable is that the winger joined Leeds in October 2020 and did not have a pre-season with Bielsa.

It is not easy to adapt to Bielsa’s system and work ethic, but Raphinha has done just that.
