
Some Celtic fans on Twitter have found yet another reason to criticise Shane Duffy.
Duffy joined the Hoops on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer but it’s been a dismal stint up North for the Republic of Ireland international.
Not only are Celtic about to surrender their 10-in-a-row bid to a Rangers side who sit on the brink of lifting the Premiership title but, on an individual level, the big centre-back simply hasn’t performed.
Fans of the Ibrox club woke up this morning knowing that Steven Gerrard’s side would win the title this weekend if they beat St Mirren this afternoon and the Bhoys drop points against Dundee tomorrow.
It might be the worst weekend that a lot of Celtic fans have experienced for close to a decade, when Rangers last won a league title.
But Duffy seemed in good spirits earlier today and posted the ‘good old days’ in response to being tagged in a video of himself scoring a thumping header for his parent club.
And suffice to say that fans of the Parkhead club weren’t pleased with the timing of it. Here’s how they reacted:
