According to Inter Live, Liverpool are prepared to pay a staggering €65million (£56million) for Inter Milan ace Nicolo Barella.

It’s claimed that Liverpool are desperate to land Barella, and are ready to stump up a staggering fee to lure him over to Anfield.

Inter have no plans of selling Barella though, intending to keep hold of him despite a couple of factors that could play into Liverpool’s hands.

Firstly, FC Inter News claim that Antonio Conte’s side are in talks with Georginio Wijnaldum’s representatives, believing that he is ideal for Conte’s 3-5-2 system.

Liverpool look unlikely to keep hold of the Dutchman, so Wijnaldum heading to the San Siro could end up boosting their hopes of signing Barella.

Additionally, Inter’s owners Suning have just shut down Jiangsu FC having run into financial problems, finding themselves in danger of losing control of Inter.

If Liverpool put huge cash on the table, it may end up being difficult for Inter to say no, with Michael Edwards potentially looking to take advantage.

Barella, 24, has racked up three goals and 10 assists for Inter this season, offering mobility, guile on the ball and the energy to play in Klopp’s system – but Inter hold all the cards here.
