Galatasaray striker Mostafa Mohamed is similar to Cristiano Ronaldo and a “better footballer than Messi and Mbappe”, pundit Khaled El Ghandour has told Sozcu of the reported Crystal Palace and one-time Rangers target.
Now, we can understand why El Ghandour may be getting a bit ahead of himself here.
The former Egypt international isn’t the only one excited about the rapid rise of a striker who has taken to life in Europe since joining Galatasaray from Zamalek like a sacred ibis to the banks of the Nile.
Mohamed has scored five goals in five Super Lig games so far, earning admiring glances from Premier League outfit Crystal Palace (HaberTurk).
Former Zamalek coach Milutin Sredojevic, meanwhile, told the Daily Record, last year that “Steven Gerrard called me personally” in an attempt to lure the striker to Rangers.
And while El Ghandour may be going a bit overboard suggesting Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe are choking on Mohamed’s dust, the 23-year-old may not be too far away from rivalling Mo Salah and becoming the new King of Egypt.
“Mostafa is a better footballer than Messi and Mbappe. He has similar characteristics to Cristiano Ronaldo,” says El Ghandour who, like Mohamed, plied his trade for Zamalek.

Galatasaray have wasted no time in making their stance clear as Crystal Palace eye a summer bid for the Super Lig frontman.
The club’s vice-president this week said Mohamed won’t be going anywhere – even if a bid of £20 million lands on the table.
