Who is Norman Lear married to?
Norman is currently married to Lyn, who is his third wife. The pair tied the knot in 1987. Over the years the pair have worked together on different projects as they built Lear Family Foundation together.
Lyn opened up about her marriage to Norman in one of the interviews as she said, “Being married to someone well-known, there’s an adjusting that goes on. You have that whole ‘Who am I in this relationship? I’ve done a lot too.”
This was not the first time Lyn had opened up about their relationship. In another interview, she said, “He’s the last of the real romantics. Every morning, he wants to have a kiss when I wake up. It’s a nice way to start the day.”
Norman Lear’s previous marriages
Norman was married twice before he tied the knot with Lyn. He was first married to Charlotte Rosen from 1943 to 1956. The two also have a daughter named Ellen together. The pair noticed cracks in their relationship after their dreams started going in different directions.
He wanted to move to Los Angeles to work on his career, but Charlotte didn’t. Their relationship soon came to an end. Norman later married Frances Lear. Talking about their first meeting he said, “When she walked into a room, an air of danger and a touch of class came with her. And that was true whichever of her bipolar moods she was in.”
Frances decided to leave the marriage to focus on herself. The pair ended up getting a divorce in 1985.
