Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher should be back and available to play in around a week, the Athletic report.
Kelleher was expected to start for Liverpool with Alisson absent for their game against Sheffield United for compassionate reasons.
However, Kelleher was not able to play due to injury.
That meant that Adrian had to be drafted into the Reds’ team, which caused some concern.
The Spaniard has been shaky in recent appearances for Liverpool, but he put in a solid display yesterday, as he helped his side pick up a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory.
Adrian may actually be required to play against Chelsea too if Alisson doesn’t return, as although Kelleher’s injury isn’t a severe one, he is set to be sidelined for a week.
The Reds are due to take on Chelsea on Thursday night, which means the Irishman may be out.
In better news for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp did suggest that Diogo Jota and Fabinho may make it back for the crunch tie at full-time.
“Ali and Fabinho pretty sure [for Thursday],” he said to the club’s official website. “We had to send Diogo home [from the hotel] so depends how he recovers. He trained with the team this week and looked really good. I think he will be available.”
