Kevin Campbell has said on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta simply has to include Gabriel Martinelli in the starting lineup today.
Arsenal will take on Leicester away from home at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Former Arsenal striker Campbell, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Arteta should give 19-year-old winger Bukayo Saka a rest and play Martinelli instead.
The 19-year-old Brazilian is now fully fit and available, but Arteta has not been using him in recent times.
According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the 19-year-old has been an unused substitute for the past four Premier League matches and did not play against Benfica in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Campbell said on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel: “Do you know what? I would leave him (Saka) on the bench.
“It’s the perfect opportunity for Martinelli, perfect opportunity. Get Martinelli out there, pace to burn, energy to burn, wrap Saka in cotton wool, keep him on the bench.”
Should Gabriel Martinelli start against Leicester City?
Martinelli must be raring to go, and it would make sense for Arsenal manager Arteta to start him on Sunday.
The Brazilian has pace and tricks, and he would be a problem for the Leicester defence.
Saka has been playing regularly this season and is tired, as Arteta himself said, and it would make sense for him to get a bit of rest.
