Jeff Stelling apologised to ‘every Evertonian’ on Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (27/02/21 at 2:25 pm) for Tim Sherwood’s comments prior to Everton beating Liverpool last week.
The Sky Sports host shared that Sherwood claimed that Liverpool would ‘put some manners’ on Everton before their Merseyside derby defeat.
In the end, it was those in blue jumping with joy at Anfield last Saturday, as they recorded their first win at Liverpool since 1999.
Whilst Stelling admitted that Sherwood himself is ‘not sorry’ for his comments, he did apologies on his behalf.
“It was a brilliant win as far as Everton were concerned,” said Stelling.
“And Tim Sherwood’s not here to apologise for saying that Liverpool were going to ‘put some manners’ on Everton.
“So, I would do it on his behalf to every Evertonian. We apologies. And I know Tim, he’s not sorry.”

It wasn’t just a win for Everton but a statement of intent to their rivals and a signal that they mean serious business heading into the final few months of the campaign.
Everton want to secure Champions League football, and whilst not many would have expected it at the start of the campaign, they may beat their neighbours to that spot.
Whilst there is still a lot of work to do, it does seem as though Everton are best prepared to finish the season stronger than their rivals.
