Actress Charisma Carpenter shared a statement on Twitter on February 10th, alleging that Joss Whedon “abused his power” while working on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel.

This follows Ray Fisher’s statement of Joss Whedon’s behaviour on the set of Justice League which he also posted on Twitter back in July 2020.

Charisma shared her statement along with the hashtag “I stand with Ray Fisher,” stating that she felt an “overwhelming sense of responsibility to Ray and others.”

Charisma Carpenter speaks out against Joss Whedon

On February 10th 2021, Charisma Carpenter shared a statement on her social media account, alleging that Joss Whedon “abused his power.”

Charism said:

“Joss Whedon abused his power on numerous occasions while working together on the sets of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. While he found his misconduct amusing, it only served to intensify my performance anxiety, disempower me, alienate me from my peers.”

She continued to explain that “Joss has a history of being casually cruel” and that “he has created hostile and toxic work environments since his early career.”

Charisma finished by saying: “It has taken me so long to muster the courage to make this statement publicly.”

Ray Fisher accuses Joss Whedon of abuse

In July 2020, Ray Fisher shared a tweet alleging that Joss Whedon’s treatment of the Justice League cast was “abusive.” He said:

“Joss Wheadon’s on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. Accountability>Entertainment.”

Ray Fisher responded to Charisma Carpenter’s statement on Twitter, writing: “Charisma Carpenter is one of the bravest people I know. I am forever grateful for her courage and for her lending her voice to the Justice League investigation.”
