Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Jose Mourinho revealed that Dane Scarlett trains with the first-team on a daily basis nowadays.
The former Chelsea boss announced the news on BT Sport last night before watching his side record a 4-0 win over Wolfsberger.
Now, that is seriously impressive for a 16-year-old.
It would’ve even been remarkable if Scarlett found himself training, and playing, on a regular basis for the Under-21 side at his age.
However, to be frequently involved with the first-team, and also feature in some first-team matches here and there, is unbelievable for his age.
One supporter pointed out that not even Troy Parrott was doing that at the age of 19, despite the fact that he too is a very highly-rated prospect at Hotspur Way.
Another felt that Mourinho’s revelation could spell danger for Carlos Vinicius.
Scarlett could potentially become the former Real Madrid manager’s No.2 striker behind Harry Kane, in our view.
This may all feel a bit premature for the 16-year-old, although he is showing no signs that he isn’t ready.
Scarlett came on in the 81st minute last night, and managed to grab an assist just two minutes after his introduction.
The wonderkid showed his tenacity by robbing Gustav Henriksson in a dangerous area, before Vinicius curled the loose ball home.
Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Mourinho’s revelation…
