David Moyes told his post-match press conference that Tottenham striker Harry Kane is a ‘top player’.

The West Ham boss was pleased that his side managed to ‘keep them quiet’ during his side’s 2-1 win against Spurs from the weekend.

Whilst Tottenham fans were left frustrated with their team’s performance, Kane had a number of chances to either score or make better of the opportunity when in the final third, but he didn’t.

Despite that, Moyes still understands the quality Tottenham have in their ranks, as he highlighted their centre-forward.

“I look at them and I think ‘the quality of players they have got’,” said Moyes. “Obviously, we all know the centre-forward is a top player.

“So, for us to keep them quiet with what we are putting out just now is doing a good job.”

Not many expected this at the start of the season, not even the most ardent of West Ham supporters.

Those at the London Stadium might end up being the top dogs in the capital when the final ball is kicked and it’s been a while since that happened.

The Hammers are sitting in fourth, two points ahead of Chelsea who are one place below them, nine points clear of ninth-placed Tottenham and eleven clear of Arsenal.
