Reported Crystal Palace target Mostafa Mohamed is a 25-goal a season striker, Galatasaray legend Tanju Colak told A Spor.
It is safe to assume Colak knows what he’s talking about.
One of the most prolific strikers in Super Lig history, the Gala hero scored a remarkable 116 goals in 124 games for the Istanbul-based giants between 1987 and 1991.
It seems unlikely that Mohamed with match those remarkable numbers, however, with the Egypt international already attracting attention from England just weeks after moving to Turkey from Zamalek.
But, after firing Galatasaray to the top of the table with three goals in his first four games for the club, The Lions have no intention of parting with their new fans’ favourite any time soon – much to the delight of Colak.
“Mostafa Mohamed is a very good striker,” Colak said.
“Just as my goal average was no less than 30 goals a season, I think his average goal rate will not be less than 25 goals a season.”
An explosive finisher with both feet, 6ft 1ins Mohamed is a true penalty-box poacher, a player would thrive when hurtling himself at the kind of teasing crosses provided by Andros Townsend and Ebere Eze at Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace all-but secured their Premier League survival thanks to a dramatic 2-1 victory away at rivals Brighton on Monday night, with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Christian Benteke both scoring brilliant goals at the Amex.
