Liverpool linked superstar Kylian Mbappe has agreed a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain which could see him take home a staggering £650,000-a-week at the Ligue 1 champions, as reported by FootMercato.
Although if you presumed this would bring an end to one of European football’s longest-running transfer sagas, think again.
While Mbappe is happy to stay at the Parc des Princes for now, it would be a stretch to suggest that the World Cup winner is about to commit his long-term future to the Qatari-backed club.
According to FM, Mbappe still wants the option to leave whenever the feeling takes him. The former Monaco wonderkid allegedly wants to include a clause in any prospective new deal; one that would allow him to depart at any time for another of Europe’s bona fide super-clubs.
The report does not say exactly which European super-clubs, although you don’t need Derren Brown to tell you that this probably refers to Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Le Parisien claimed as recently as last month that Mbappe has been seduced by the idea of honing his already fearsome attacking talents under Jurgen Klopp at the reigning Premier League champions.
Yet, with Mbappe expected to be handed an eye-watering £650,000-a-week contract by PSG (putting him in line with Neymar’s £2.5 million monthly deal), it is hard to imagine the 22-year-old earning a similar sum at any other football club.
Liverpool are hardly paupers, but a PSG side bankrolled by the Qatar royal family boast pockets deeper than pretty much anyone else in the game.
