Everton beat Liverpool 2-0 on Saturday evening, picking up a rare league win at Anfield to leave fans utterly ecstatic.

Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson fired the Toffees to victory in style, heaping the misery on Liverpool as their form continues to frustrate.

Bizarrely, one Everton player was linked with a move to Liverpool on Saturday too, with the Daily Mail claiming that the Reds want Jarrad Branthwaite.

It’s claimed that Manchester City and Manchester United both want to sign Branthwaite too, seemingly viewing him as one for the future.

Everton only signed Branthwaite from Carlisle United last January, but he did show promise in limited Premier League minutes.

The signing of Ben Godfrey pushed him down the pecking order, and Everton have now sent Branthwaite on loan to Blackburn Rovers.

Liverpool may well have been impressed with him whilst watching Harvey Elliott, but fans don’t seem too impressed with this rumour.

Some think that Liverpool already have better young defenders in Billy Koumetio, Sepp van den Berg and Rhys Williams, and feel that adding another youngster at centre back isn’t what Liverpool need now.

Others blasted FSG, claiming that Liverpool should be going for bigger names than Branthwaite whilst calling the rumour ’embarrassing’ and ‘ridiculous’.
