DOOM Eternal was one of the best games of 2020, and fans will be happy to hear that The Ancient Gods Part 2 DLC has recently been rated. However, while this is fantastic news, what’s interesting is that the game’s director has also discussed the prospect of a female DOOM Slayer. This has gotten people asking whether the series is getting a female Slayer, and many fans on Twitter have screamed from the Heavens that there is already Crash from Quake 3.

The Doomguy is an iconic character in the video games industry, and his instalments have gotten even better with time thanks to the fantastic 2016 rebirth and even better Eternal sequel. The sequel was dubbed “one of the best shooters in years” by some, and hopefully there will be another instalment in years from now.

And there could be a female DOOM Slayer provided Eternal’s director follows through with his thoughts.

Female DOOM slayer

DOOM Eternal’s director has recently talked about the prospect of a female Slayer.

Hugo Martin discussed the prospect of a female DOOM slayer while speaking to Bethesda Community Manager, Joshua Boyle, during a Twitch stream.

He said the following (via NME):

“I think if we did it, I’d want it to be lethal. I think it’s interesting how it would impact the glory kills, the kind of weapons that she would have, the fighting style.

All aggression, absolutely, but a different type of aggression. I would really strive to allow it to impact the gameplay in a way that was meaningful. I’ve definitely put a lot of thought into that.”

The idea is definitely interesting, and it’s good to hear that the relentless heavy metal aggression would not be lost in the hypothetical translation.

However, some fans have heavily pointed to Crash as an existing female Doom Girl.

Fans want Crash to be the female DOOM Slayer

Some fans on Twitter have said they want Crash to be the female DOOM Slayer.

While lots of people are excited about the prospect of a female DOOM Slayer in general, some fans are saying that they want it to be Crash from Quake 3 seeing as the lore already exists.

Quake 3 says that she was the Doomguy’s military instructor, but in Arena she is the tutorial who introduces new warriors to the skills of battle.

Some references to her include Doom Girl, Doom Lady, and Doomette, so why not make her female DOOM Slayer as well?

While some fans are in love with the idea, a DOOM Girl who doesn’t already exist would also be great.

Exciting hypothetical scenarios include a playable character in multiplayer, a way to introduce a co-op campaign, or an entirely new story which stars the badass lass on her own.
