Tim Sherwood told Premier League Productions (21/02/21 at 12:55 pm) that Craig Dawson was ‘annoyed’ at Declan Rice during West Ham’s 2-1 win against Tottenham on Sunday.
In the first half, Erik Lamela made a bursting run from his own half into West Ham’s final third, as he shrugged off a number of opposition players, including Rice.
Lamela’s through ball did find Harry Kane, but he was unable to hit the target and get on the scoresheet.
Sherwood thinks Rice should have fouled the Spurs playmaker, who was hooked off during the break.
“Look at Dawson there, he is telling Declan Rice, look he’s annoyed with him,” said Sherwood.
“Don’t go round that side. Just hold him up, Declan. You have got to bring him down there. But Lamela riggles through, they get the ball through to Harry Kane and normally he is deadly.
“I was expecting the net to buldge. They get away with that one.”
Dawson has made some impact since joining from relegated-Watford in the summer.
Initially, he was injured so he didn’t start off the campaign for the Hammers, but ever since he has got his engine going, he has been an unsung hero at the back.
But all of that is credit to David Moyes and how he has changed West Ham’s success in the transfer market.
